The Maccabi Football Tournament

In the Football Tournament, everyone was very nervous. The winning team, Naima B Team, won 5-0 in their first match whilst Naima A Team lost 1-0.  Playing for the Naima B Team was Nate, Jacob, Ethan, Leo, Daniel, Jota and George, and playing for the Naima A Team was Sam, Lola, Evie, Nathan, Raphael, Ron and Alex.    
 
The Naima B Team played fantastically well, remaining in control of the ball through most of the match. Daniel Misrahi continued to fight for the ball down the right wing throughout the whole of the tournament and provided numerous opportunities for the team to score, many of which were executed with precision,  resulting in the fantastic score-line throughout the Tournament.
 
The B Team played 5 matches to get to the final.
 
Naima B Team won all of their 6 matches throughout the tournament, conceding only one goal to Kerem A Team.  The largest win was against Kerem A Team, when we scored 6-0.  
 
In the final game against Independent C Team, when the score was still 0 – 0 a penalty was awarded against Naima B. The player for the Independent school (the team that won last year) struck the ball and fortunately Jota saved it.
 
After the penalty was saved by Jota, he rolled the ball to George and George smacked it over head height and gave a free kick away to Independent C Team.   They, in turn smacked the ball towards the top corner but again Jota saved it.  Next he rolled it out to Daniel who passed it to Nate, who skilled up the whole team then through-balled it to George.  It was now that George scored an AMAZING goal… THE WINNING GOAL!!! It was the only goal of the match… the final score was 1-0.      WE WON!
