Roman Day for Year Three

A lot of effort was put into all the Roman costumes the children wore to help them get into character for the day. The class participated in Roman activities under the instruction of their 'master' and with the help from parents and teachers. The children all made a Roman pot, a fresco tile, engraved a brooch, mixed and crushed herbs to make a medicine and made their own ink to write with.

In the afternoon, the children enjoyed a Roman banquet where they feasted upon food served to them by a slave. They were entertained by actors performing plays, a dance and a presentation given by some Roman soldiers.

Many thanks to all the parents and teachers who helped to make the day so special.
